Building Mobile Apps for Business

Mobile is for business.  Every firm with a web app, and every company with a website for that matter, must now consider their visibility and sales opportunities afforded by a mobile presence.

Come hear award-winning mobile consultant Dan Hermes give a comprehensive overview of the basics, hot on the heels of his Davey Award (from the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts) for a recent mobile project called PCR Essentials (commissioned by Thermo Fisher Scientific), and a Xammy award finalist at the recent Xamarin Evolve 2014 conference.

We will also hear from our host Bob Donahoe, a practicing intellectual property attorney and founder and CEO of Full Flight Technology, a start-up bringing app-enabled technology to the field of archery. Full Flight’s new bow sight calibration app, UNO, promises to help archers around the world shoot more accurately while saving countless hours of equipment-setup time.

Cross Platform Development: How do we efficiently build business apps for Android, iOS, and Windows phones and tablets simultaneously?  Learn about the key considerations when scaling up your company’s mobile presence.  We will discuss the advantages and limitations of:

  • Responsive design
  • Native apps
  • Cross-platform development

What tools are available to undertake these types of projects and what are the skill sets needed to use them?  What resources are available to build these apps and what should we expect as a result? Learn the facts you need to budget, plan, and design your apps.  Enhance and hone your mobile strategy.
